A revolutionary method that's quieter, faster, and gentler than anything that's come before — and the results speak for themselves.

Hair extension technology has come a long way. From glue guns and heat irons to today's precision UV-cured systems, the industry keeps reinventing itself. But nothing has turned heads quite like V-Light UV hair extensions — a strand-by-strand method that uses ultraviolet light to create bonds that are invisible, flexible, and incredibly secure.

At Great Fusion Hair, we're always looking for the methods that serve our clients best. UV light extensions have earned a permanent place in our menu — and here's exactly why.

What are UV light hair extensions?

UV hair extensions (also called V-Light extensions) use a specialized resin adhesive that is activated and cured by a UV light — specifically a 395 nanometer UV-B wavelength bulb. Each strand is applied one at a time directly to your natural hair, and the bond sets in just 5 to 7 seconds. The result is a tiny, flat, virtually invisible connection point that sits flush with your scalp and blends seamlessly into your hair.

No heat. No harsh chemicals. No melting keratin. Just light.

"The UV curing process creates a bond that is simultaneously stronger and more discreet than traditional keratin fusion — you can apply them closer to the hairline, in areas where other methods simply can't go."
The key advantages

No heat, no damage

Traditional fusion uses hot irons to melt keratin bonds — UV light replaces all of that. The curing process is gentle enough for even fine, fragile, or previously damaged hair.

Truly invisible bonds

The bond is flatter and more discreet than keratin or tape. Even up close, the connection point is undetectable — no bumps, no ridges, no tell-tale lines.

Faster application

Each bond cures in 5–7 seconds, significantly reducing chair time compared to traditional fusion methods that require extended heating and cooling phases.

Ideal for fine hair

UV extensions were specifically designed for fine, thin, or delicate hair types — including clients with alopecia or hairline thinning who can't tolerate heavier methods.

Greater placement freedom

Because the bond is so discreet, extensions can be placed at the hairline, temples, and crown — areas where traditional methods look bulky or unnatural.

Strong, flexible hold

The UV-cured resin is resistant to heat, moisture, and styling products — bonds stay secure for 6–8 weeks with proper care, while remaining flexible enough to move naturally.

Who is a good candidate?

UV light extensions work beautifully for almost everyone, but they're particularly transformative for clients with fine or thinning hair who've been told in the past that they're not a good candidate for extensions. The lightweight bonds don't pull or stress delicate strands, and the precision placement means we can add volume exactly where you need it.

They're also a great fit for clients who simply want the most natural-looking result possible — people who want everyone to wonder what they did to their hair, without anyone knowing they have extensions.

"Whether you're dealing with fine strands, general thinning, or noticeable bald spots — UV extensions can offer the desired thickness and volume while merging flawlessly with your own hair."

Caring for your UV extensions

UV extensions are durable, but a little care goes a long way. Use a sulfate-free shampoo to protect the bonds, brush gently from the ends up using an extension-safe brush, and avoid applying heavy conditioners or oils directly to the bond points. At move-up appointments (every 6–8 weeks), your stylist will remove, clean, and reapply them — keeping your hair healthy in the process.
